Volunteers News - March/April 2007
A date for your diary
All volunteers are to be invited to Millbrooke House on Tuesday, May 22nd for a Cream Tea - free of charge, of course, as this is a small 'thank you' event to express our gratitude for everything you continue to do for our clients. I hope you'll be able to come along.
Coffee Mornings
Don't forget the coffee morning and raffle every Wednesday between 10.30am and midday at Millbrooke House. These are open to the public; if you're passing, please drop in. Items on sale include basket ware made by the handicraft club.
Recommend us to a friend!
We are always in need of more volunteers: do you know a friend or neighbour who has a kind heart and an hour or so to spare now and again? Would you ask if they'd like to join our team of volunteers?
At the moment we are particularly in need of volunteers to drive clients by car to or from clubs, especially in the evenings, perhaps once a month. Do you know someone who is at work all day but would be able to help us in this way? Please ask them to get in touch.

"Wear Bright for Sight Day" - Friday 30th March
Schoolchildren are being encouraged to support us on Friday 30th March by wearing really colourful clothes to school and help raise money for the Society. Known as "Wear Bright for Sight Day", they are asked to wear their most vivid clothes, even fancy dress, or perhaps change their hair colour, and donate £1 for the privilege of not wearing uniform that day.
And..... adults can join in too. Wear something really bright that day and reveal your true personality. Talk to your work colleagues and see if your employer will let you join in. Otherwise it's an excellent excuse for going out that evening! Adults are asked to donate £2 to the Society for having some fun.
